Description
The XPort8040 is an intelligent communications controller targeting
high bandwidth telecom applications.
XPort8040 realizes the full potential of the AMC form factor
with the use of a Wintegra WinPath-2 Network processor and
four software configurable OC3/STM1 ports.
The XPort8040 supports a UTOPIA-3 interface that connects to 4 full duplex OC-3 SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) interfaces allowing for single or multimode optics. The UTOPIA-3 interface supports AAL0/1/2(CPS, SSSAR, SSTED)/5. Data can be processed by directly by the interal MIPS 24K 450MHz processor, and then routed to either the PCIe or Gigabit Ethernet AMC fabrics.
Hot Swap support allows XPort8040 to be installed and removed from a live AMC system.
